How should we evaluate and preserve the movable heritage? And what research do we need to perform in support of this? These are the issues with which the Cultural Heritage Agency’s movable heritage research and knowledge centre is concerned. Along with national and international research partners at museums, universities and archives, the centre conducts research, characterises the materials and analyses change processes. The Agency ensures that third parties can apply the knowledge.
We have drafted a research agenda for the movable heritage in collaboration with our research partners at museums, universities and archives. We are to conduct five research programmes up to 2012 under the core theme of Valuing value:
- Value and evaluation
- Risk management
- Museometry: collections and numbers
- Objects in context
